Files dan Folder disembunyikan Virus ?

Untuk menampilkan folder yang disembunyikan, tidak cukup melalui Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders, tetapi harus menghilangkan check di "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" dan terkadang menu ini dihilangkan oleh virus, sehingga kita tidak bisa merubahnya.

Setelah folder ditampilkan, icon akan tampak samar-samar yang menunjukkan file/folder di-hidden jika di klik kanan > Properties, maka opsi Hidden tidak akan bisa dirubah ( karena hidden system ). Untuk menampilkannya lagi bisa dilakukan dengan langkah berikut :

Buka Command Prompt ( All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt )
Cari dimana folder yang di sembunyikan
Ketik perintah ATTRIB *.* -S -H -R /S /D
Untuk mengetahui keterangan mengenai perintah itu ketik ATTRIB /?

Update 01 Agustus 2008
Setelah membuka window Command Prompt, biasanya akan tampil seperti berikut :
C:\Documents and Settings\nama_user

Kemudian ketik saja sebagai berikut

CD..

dan tekan enter. Ulangi lagi sampai tampil drive-nya saja, misalnya

C:\>

Selanjutnya, dicari dimana file/folder tersebut disembunyikan. Jika di drive E:, maka ketik saja perintah berikut:

C:\>E: kemudian tekan enter, sehingga akan tampil E:\>

Setelah itu ketik perintah seperti diatas ATTRIB *.* -S -H -R /S /D , yang berarti semua file dan folder di drive E: yang disembunyikan akan ditampilkan. Jika hanya folder tertentu, misalnya di folder D:\Data\Skripsi. Maka langkahnya sebagai berikut :

Ubah lokasi Command prompt ke drive D, dengan mengetikkan perintah D:
Untuk menuju lokasi D:\Data\Skripsi, maka ketikkan perintah sebagai berikut :
CD Data\Skripsi
Kemudian baru ditulis perintah ATTRIB *.* -S -H -R /S /D

Telah terbit kembali majalah PC Media. Di edisi 12/2008 ini, kembali dirilis PC Media Antivirus versi 1.9. PCMAV kali ini mampu mengenali dan mengatasi 2349 virus beserta variannya yang banyak dilaporkan dan menyebar luas di Indonesia.

Di edisi tersebut juga Anda dapat menemukan artikel virus yang membahas virus Bungas.vbs yang dikenal berusaha menyembunyikan rutin decryptor nya, karena ia memang salah satu virus VBScript yang menggunakan teknik enkripsi. Dan di PCMAV 1.9 juga telah ditambahkan engine cleaner khusus yang dapat membersihkan komputer yang terinfeksi oleh virus ini dengan tuntas.

APA YANG BARU?

Sepintas Tentang Virus Hatred:

Hatred. 18 Kb atau lebih tepatnya 18.432 bytes terbilang kecil untuk sebuah virus yang dibuat menggunakan bahasa tingkat tinggi. Yang dalam hal ini, virus ini dibuat menggunakan Visual Basic yang di-compile menggunakan metode P-Code. Ukuran tersebut juga sudah dalam kondisi di-pack menggunakan UPX, yang jika di-unpack ukurannya menjadi sekitar 80Kb. Virus ini menggunakan icon mirip dokumen Microsoft Word untuk menipu mangsanya.

PCMAV mengenalnya dengan nama Hatred, sementara beberapa antivirus lain mengenalnya sebagai Trojan.Autorun, VB, atau Karan. Virus ini memang sepertinya bukanlah virus keluaran baru, tapi trik-trik yang digunakan cukup banyak dan menariknya ukurannya terbilang kecil. Pada komputer terinfeksi, saat waktu di komputer menunjukan tanggal 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, atau 30, virus ini akan membuat user account baru di Windows dengan nama Hatred.

Bisnis kecemasan
Seiring dengan meningkatnya aktivitas internet, persoalan komputer sekarang tidak cuman sekadar virus. Ada spyware, malware, adware, parasiteware, browser hijacker, keylogger, dialer, dan masih banyak lagi.

Spyware bukan virus, tetapi perangkat lunak mencurigakan (malicious software/malware) yang bisa meng-install dirinya ke dalam komputer. Dengan keylogger ini, password kita bisa dicuri orang lho.Keylogger berbentuk hardware bisa dipasang di bagian tertentu dari keyboard dengan tujuan untuk merekam data yang dikirimkan keyboard ke mesin komputer. Untuk keylogger berbentuk software, lebih berbahaya lagi karena dia beroperasi secara sembunyi (background process).

Ada lagi trojan atau si kuda troya. Kelihatannya tidak berbahaya, tetapi di dalamnya ada ”sepasukan” perusak komputer. Trojan bertujuan merusak sistem jaringan komputer dan beroperasi secara sembunyi.

TREN VIRUS jenis VBScript memang belum selesai, tiada hent para pembuat virus lokal melakukan aksinya. Kali ini kami akan mencoba membahas salah satu virus berjenis VBScript, yang menggunakan teknik lain dalam penginfeksiannya. Dikena oleh PC Media Antivirus sebagai Repvblik.vbs. Memang dike tahui virus ini sepertinya bukanlah virus keluaran terbaru, tap teknologi yang diusung lain daripada virus VBScript biasanya dan beberapa pembaca masih ada yang mengeluhkan virus ini. Virus ini memiliki ukuran ﬁle asli sebesar 5915 bytes. Cukup kecil, kan? Inilah salah satu keunggulan yang dimiliki oleh virus jenis VBScript, karena ukuran ﬁle virus terbilang kecil meru pakan nilai tambah baginya untuk dapat mempercepat laju penyebaran virus ini.

Virus ini dapat berjalan mulus pada operating system Windows XP yang kami uji cobakan. Sekilas, jika dilihat secara visual menggunakan Notepad, jenis virus yang memiliki extension .VBS ini hadir dalam kondisi terenkripsi. Bisa diketahu pada saat dibuka, karena yang muncul hanya karakter aneh Namun jika lebih teliti, di bagian paling atas terdapat string “RPVBLK=True” atau “RPVBLK=False”, dan di bagian bawah terdapat rutin yang biasa disebut sebagai decryptor yang tentunya dapat terbaca.

Enkripsi

Tidak sulit dalam melakukan deskripsi atas tubuh virus tersebut. Karena secanggih apapun enkripsi yang ia terapkan, past dapat terbongkar juga karena sebenarnya dalam tubuhnya pun terdapat rutin decryptor yang akan menerjemahkan byte per byte ke dalam bentuk aslinya. Enkripsi yang ia lakukan hanyalah permainan karakter saja, hanya memaju atau memundurkan karakter saja, biasa dikenal dengan Caesar Cipher. Yang kam lakukan hanya menyisipkan beberapa rutin yang nantinya akan melakukan dumping pada teks yang telah terdekripsi dan kam pun dapat dengan mudah mempelajari gerak–gerik virus tersebut dari source code-nya.

Saat seluruh tubuh virus berhasil di-decrypt, tepat di bagian atas source script tersebut, terlihat beberapa string comment yang bertuliskan seperti “Repvblik Ver 2.0 ^_^!”, dan juga beberapa pesan yang ia sampaikan.

Virus di StartUp

Yang pertama ia lakukan adalah tentunya menciptakan ﬁle induk. Jadi, saat virus dieksekusi di komputer yang bersih, ia akan menciptakan sebuah ﬁle induk asli yang ia tempatkan pada direktori StartUp yang bisa Anda temukan pada Start Menu > StartUp dengan nama Repvblik.vbs. Bagaimana ia mengenali dirinya sendiri, apakah ﬁle tersebut merupakan ﬁle induk atau ﬁle yang sudah terinfeksi? Ia memiliki pengenal di bagian pa ling atas source script-nya, yakni “RPVBLK” yang bisa bernilai True atau False. File induk virus ini juga akan running otomatis pada saat memulai Windows.

Pesan

Bersamaan dengan itu pula, ia akan menciptakan direktori baru pada drive C:\ dengan nama Repvblik. Di dalam direktori atau folder tersebut, Anda akan menemukan sebuah ﬁle teks dengan nama Repvblik.txt yang merupakan pesan dari sang pembuat virus. Tidak hanya di situ saja, karena di setiap direktori tingkat pertama yang ia temukan pun pasti akan terdapat ﬁle Repvblik.txt.

Dan saat aktif di memory, jika dilihat menggunakan Task Manager, user tidak akan dapat melihat process virus dengan nama menyerupai nama ﬁle VBS, karena saat sebuah ﬁle VBS diklik atau diakses, Windows secara otomatis akan menjalankan program wscript.exe yang bisa dibilang sebagai penerjemah dari script tersebut. Jadi saat virus ini aktif, process virus yang tampak di Task Manager hanyalah process wscript.exe. Cukup sulit memang menentukannya, apakah wscript.exe tersebut menjalankan ﬁle VBS virus atau bukan, karena bisa saja sebagian user masih memanfaatkan bahasa VBScript ini untuk membuat script kecil yang dapat mempermudah kerjanya. Namun, jika menggunakan program yang lebih advanced, seperti misalnya Process Explorer, Anda bisa lebih detail menelusuri setiap process yang ada. Hanya dengan mengklik kanan process yang diinginkan, lalu klik Properties, Anda akan menemukan informasi script apa yang dijalankan oleh wscript.exe itu pada editbox Command Line di Process Explorer.

Infeksi Dokumen!

Setelah ﬁle induk berhasil dibuat, ia pun segera melancarkan jurus pamungkas, yakni menginfeksi dokumen Anda yang terdapat pada direktori My Documents. File yang akan diinfeksi oleh virus ini adalah ﬁle–ﬁle dengan extension DOC, XLS, PPT, PPS, dan RTF yang pasti sudah tidak asing lagi di mata Anda. Semua alur penginfeksiannya bisa dipelajari dengan jelas dengan membaca rutin fungsi yang ia beri nama explore_folder_and_infect_ﬁle yang terdapat pada tubuhnya. Cara yang ia lakukan sebenarnya sangatlah sederhana, ia akan mencari di direktori My Documents ﬁle–ﬁle dengan extension tersebut termasuk ke dalam subdirektori, jika ia menemukannya maka dengan sigap ia akan menginfeksinya. Dengan sebelumnya ia pun telah menghapus isi dari folder Recent yang berisi data ﬁle–ﬁle yang terakhir kali dibuka.

Caranya menginfeksi adalah dengan cara meng-append ﬁle dokumen yang akan diinfeksi di bagian bawah tubuh sang virus. Jadi apabila Anda memiliki ﬁle dengan nama misalkan Skripsi. doc, maka virus ini akan membaca keseluruhan isi dari ﬁle tersebut, lalu ditaruhnya isi dari ﬁle dokumen itu di bagian paling bawah tubuh sang virus, dan memberikan tanda berupa string “RPVBLK=False” di bagian awal tubuh sang virus, yang artinya virus tersebut sudah menginfeksi ﬁle. Ini biasa juga dilakukan oleh virus lain yang memiliki kemampuan injeksi, agar ﬁle yang sudah diinfeksi tidak diinfeksi lagi. File yang sudah diinfeksi namanya akan menjadi Skripsi.doc.vbs. Dan ﬁle dokumen yang asli pun akan dihapusnya. Tentu saja kini ﬁle dokumen Anda sudah menjadi ﬁle VBScript, yang sudah tentu tidak bisa dibuka dengan Microsoft Word. Namun Anda tidak perlu bingung, biarkan PCMAV melakukan tugasnya mengembalikan dokumen Anda ke keadaan seperti semula.Nanti pada saat ﬁle terinfeksi dijalankan, virus ini akan terlebih dahulu meng-extract ﬁle dokumen yang terdapat pada tubuhnya pada current directory, lalu menjalankan kembali dirinya dan seolah-olah tidak terjadi apa-apa.

Manipulasi Registry

Virus Repvblik ini pun akan dengan cerdik mencoba untuk mengubah default icon dari setiap ﬁle VBS agar menggunakan icon Microsoft Word. Serta mengubah ﬁle type nya menjadi “Microsoft Word Document”, dan menghilangkan tampilan extension .VBS pada Windows Explorer dengan menambahkan item NeverShowExt pada key VBSFile di Registry Windows. Tentunya jika sudah begini, user awam tidak akan bisa membedakan antara ﬁle asli dengan ﬁle virus.

Rename MP3

Tidak hanya menginfeksi dokumen, ia pun mulai mengerjai ﬁle musik MP3 koleksi Anda. Setiap ﬁle MP3 yang ia temukan akan di-rename olehnya. Yang ia lakukan adalah menambahkan string “Repvblik_” di depan nama ﬁle MP3 yang akan ia kerjai.

Behati–hatilah jika menemukan file dengan nama–nama seperti “I am So Sorry.txt.vbs”,”SMS Gratis via GPRS.txt. vbs”,”Indonesian and their corruption!! .txt.vbs”,”Never be touched!! .txt.vbs”,”Make U lofty.txt.vbs”,”Thank U Ly.txt. vbs”,”The Power of Midwife.txt.vbs”, dan atau “NenekSihir and her Secrets.txt.vbs” pada perangkat removable disk Anda, itu adalah nama ﬁle yang biasa ia gunakan untuk menyebar.

Antivirus XP 2009: Software Tipuan yang Terjual Hingga 158 ribu Dollar

Hacker asal Rusia menghasilkan 158.000 dollar hanya dalam 1 minggu. Dia berhasil menjual software sampah bernama Antivirus XP 2009 ke orang Amerika.

Tentu masih ingat ketika Windows terkena malware. Lalu muncul tampilan peringatan palsu, yang mengatakan computer terinfeksi virus. Dan muncul berulang ulang, bila diclick akan dihubungkan ke situs tertentu untuk membeli software Aspal.

Hasilnya software palsu ditawarkan hanya $50, pembeli yang tertipu mendapatkan software palsu Antivirus XP 2008 atau Antivirus XP 2009.

Ketika software di Install, maka akan mendeteksi beberapa virus dan malware jenis trojan. Tapi hal itu cuma akal akalan si pembuat software Aspal, biar terlihat software bekerja dengan baik. Hasilnya memang 0 besar, karena cuma kadalnya si Hacker mengelabuhi pembeli.

Serangan penipuan tersebut dilakukan oleh Hacker Rusia yang mengendalikan dari sistem Botnet. Dari mana si Hacker diketahui mendapat uang sebesar tersebut. Sebuah perusahaan mengundang si Hacker yang disebut NeoN, dan menanyakan hasil yang didapat. Katanya cukup 1 minggu untuk mendapatkan 158 ribu dollar.

Gila bener... Ternyata banyak orang Amerika yang masih gaptek dan gampang dibodohi... :)

Untuk yang online, setelah Avast! terinstall di komputer, biasanya ia memiliki pengaturan default yang telah mengatur supaya setiap kali komputer Anda terkoneksi ke internet, ia akan memperbaharui database pengenal virusnya secara otomatis.

Namun jika tidak, Anda bisa mengaturnya dengan mudah. Caranya, pertama tentu saja buka program Avast!-nya (biasanya terletak di START » All Programs » avast! Antivirus). Sesaat Avast! akan melakukan penjelajahan pada sistem memori untuk mengecek kalau-kalau ada virus yang bersembunyi di sistem memori komputer.

Setelah Avast! terbuka, masuk ke menu Settings… » Update (Basic). Disini Anda bisa memilih pilihan “Automatic” atau “Ask when update is available”.
Untuk update secara offlinenya kita dapat mendownload databasenya yang bernama "vpsupd.exe" yang kemudian bisa diinstal ke komputer yang sudah terlebih dahulu diinstal antivirus AVAST ini

Cara update Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 (u/ versi 8 hampir sama cara update-nya)

1. Download terlebih dahulu Update Kaspersky Anti-Virus (cumul/weekly/daily)

2. Lalu buat folder di komputer yang akan di update(nama folder terserah, contoh:Update antivirus ku) kemudian ekstrak update (cumul/weekly/daily ke dalam folder tersebut). Urutan ekstraknya mulai dari cumul baru weekly kemudian daily. (jika meminta replays file ok saja)

3. Buka antivirus kaspersky, bisa lewat start atau double klik icon kaspersky disamping bawah kanan, nanti akan muncul :

5. Klik pada bagian setting (bagian yang dilingkari)

6. Klik pada konfigure

7. Kemudian klik add dan tambahkan folder yang telah dibuat tadi

Kira-kira gambarnya akan menjadi:

8. Setelah itu OK terus aja sampai selesai.

Untuk mengupdate klik pada bagian update, trus bagian update database.

Nb: bagi yang sering update secara offline, buat saja satu folder khusus lalu sebaiknya nanti jangan dihapus, karena folder itu bisa di pakai sebagai tempat khusus bila ada update-update selanjutnya. Jadi jika anda ingin mengupdate antivirus anda lagi, anda Cuma perlu meng-ekstrak kedalam folder tadi. Jadi tidak perlu mengulang-ulang langkah 2-6.

Setelah Doraemon, Naruto dan Kenshin, kini giliran tokoh kartun beken Donal Bebek yang namanya dicatut pembuat virus lokal. Salah satu ciri khas virus ini adalah memakai nama "Bulu Bebek".

Dalam sebulan terakhir, Bulu Bebek diperkirakan telah mengacak-acak ribuan komputer di Indonesia. Bulu Bebek dibuat dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Visual Basic dengan ukuran file 53 KB, yang terdiri dari 2 jenis file yakni .EXE dan .INI. Dengan update terbaru Norman Virus Control dan Norman Security Suite, virus ini terdeteksi sebagai VbWorm.QXE.

Bulu Bebek akan menyembunyikan folder/subfolder pada flash disk dan membut file duplikat sesuai dengan nama folder/subfolder tersebut untuk mengelabui user. Ciri-ciri file duplikat tersebut antara lain: menggunakan icon Folder, berukuran 53 KB, berekstensi .EXE dan menggunakan tipe file "Application".

Beberapa waktu terakhir muncul banyak “Antivirus Palsu” yang bisa berbahaya jika terinstall di komputer. Jika kita sedang browsing dan tiba-tiba muncul pesan untuk menginstall program atau antvirus tertentu atau pesan bahwa komputer kita terinfeksi virus, trojan, spyware dan sejenisnya, maka harus berhati-hati, bisa-bisa komputer kita di install antivirus palsu.

Mengapa Antivirus palsu ? karena melihat tampilan dan proses kerjanya, kita akan yakin bahwa program ini benar-benar antivirus atau anti spyware, malware dan sejenisnya dan hampir tidak tampak bahwa program ini menyimpan maksud tertentu diluar tampilannya yang terkesan antivirus.

Update Engine bagi Pengguna Avira Antivir

Bagi anda yang menggunakan antivirus Avira Antivir, baik yang Free maupun premium, baru saja terdapat update engine avira. Berbeda dengan update database virus, update engine mengupdate program inti (core), sehingga ada perbaikan performa/kinerja dan juga kemampuan antivirus.

Sebenarnya update engine biasa terjadi tiap 1-2 minggu sekali, tetapi update kali ini mungkin sedikit spesial, terutama juga bagi pengguna di Indonesia. Mengapa ?

Engine yang baru kali ini adalah Versi 7.9.0.4 (Avira versi 7) dan versi 8.2.0.4 ( Avira versi 8). Untuk mengentahui versi engine ini, buka saja window utama Avira, kemudian klik bagian Last Update ( tanda plus). Maka akan ditampilkan versi search Engine. Misalnya seperti contoh berikut :

Dari beberapa tambahan dan perbaikan diatas, ada satu virus yang mungkin banyak menyebar di sekitar kita, yaitu Win32/Virut. Saya sendiri beberapa kali menemukan komputer yang terinfeksi virus ini, mulai dari versi (varian) awal-awal sampai generasi virut versi terbaru (Win32/Virut.ag kalau tidak salah).

Sekalian sedikit membahas versi penamaan virus, ketika sebuah virus baru dideteksi antivirus, maka biasanya diberi akhiran a, misalnya Win32/Virut.a. Win32 berarti virus tersebut menyerang file-file application (windows 32 bit). Jika varian virus baru muncul maka di beri nama Virut.b dan seterusnya. Jika sudah sampai Virut.z, maka akhiran akan ditambah menjadi 2 huruf menjadi Virut.aa, Virut.ab, Virut.ac dan seterusnya. Jika Virut sudah sampai ag, berarti sudah lebih dari 30 varian virus ini.

Virus ini cukup merepotkan dan cukup hebat, terutama karena kemampuannya menumpang di file exe dan mampu menyebar melalui exe tersebut. Sehingga tidak jarang meski Windows di install ulang, masih terkena virus ini juga. Karena begitu selesai menginstall windows kemudian tanpa kita tahu, program yang di install berikutnya sudah di tumpangi virus ini.

Oleh karena itu, jika anda menggunakan antivirus Avira Antivir, dan versi engine masih dibawah versi tersebut, maka sebaiknya segera di update. Cara update sama seperti cara biasanya, hanya nanti perlu restart komputer agar update bisa finish.

Disconnect and isolate. If you suspect one of your computers has suffered a virus attack, immediately quarantine the computer by physically disconnecting it, as infected machines pose a danger to all other computers connected to the network. If you suspect other computers may be infected, even if they aren't displaying any symptoms, still treat them like they are. It's counter-productive to clean one machine while an infected computer is still connected to the network.

Focus on the cleanup. Once you've physically disconnected the computer, focus on removing the malicious code. Use virus removal tools written for the specific virus causing the damage. Many of these tools can be found online. In addition, your antivirus software should have updates or patches available for the specific security threat. If your antivirus software hasn't been updated recently, be sure to do so.

Reinstall your operating system. After a virus attack, damages may range from changed file names and obliterated files to permanently disabled software applications. The extent of the damage depends on the particular virus. If your operating system is completely destroyed, you'll need to reinstall your operating system by using the quick restore CD that came with your computer. This will restore your computer to its original configuration, meaning you'll lose any applications you may have installed or data files you may have saved. So before you begin the reinstallation process, make sure you have all the necessary information handy, including the original software, licenses, registration and serial numbers.

Restore your data. This assumes you've been diligent about backing up your files. If you haven't been doing a regular backup of all the data and files on your computer's hard drive, your files will most likely be permanently lost. If this is the case, learn from your mistake and make sure to back up on a regular, ongoing basis. And keep in mind, not all viruses target data files. Some only attack applications.

Scan for viruses. After restoring and reinstalling, perform a thorough virus scan of your network. Use the most recent virus definitions available for your antivirus software. Be careful not to overlook anything; scan all files and documents on all computers and servers on your network.

Prevent future attacks. Run antivirus software and keep virus definitions current. Make sure your security patches are up-to-date. And if you haven't been running antivirus software, start doing so immediately to prevent future attacks. Also, if you lost data files in the recent attack, create and enforce a regular backup schedule. Change all of your passwords, including ISP access passwords, FTP, email and Web site passwords. Some viruses can capture or crack passwords, leading to future vulnerabilities. By changing your passwords, you'll be able to boost your security.

Above all, learn from your mistakes. If a virus penetrated your defenses, consider changing or enhancing your current security practices. Ask yourself why your previous security measures weren't effective. Did you need a firewall? Were you lax about updating virus definitions and security patches? Did you download files without scanning them first? Now is an ideal time to comb through, edit and reinforce your IT security policy, as you'll need to shore up the holes in your security practices. After all, prevention is always the best security policy.

Ansav is a free antivirus utility designed to identify, thwart and eliminate computer viruses and other malicious software (malware).

ANSAV, abbreviation from An's AntiVirus, is an application that runs on
Windows XP and was made especially to handle various mallware like virus,
Trojan and Spyware.

This is not a commercial Antivirus, ANSAV was only designed as portable software and can be undertaken without needing the installation, because ANSAV is not resident and only treats.

At this time ANSAV could have detected various newest local virus (Indonesia
Viruses) and several foreign viruses that often circulated in Indonesia, but ANSAV cannot be relied on as personal Antivirus because there are quite a few viruses that could be detected by other Antivirus softwares and were not detected by ANSAV. This was caused by the limitations of the Antivirus database (the virus definition signature).

ANSAV was developed for Indonesian purpose (local support only) although it can detect several foreign viruses, therefore your role is to always send the sample of the newest virus that still could not be detected by ANSAV, so that ANSAV would become your main weapon to eradicate the virus, especially the local virus.
